Game Ordered To Pay North Carolina Police $5 Million

.
Uh-oh. Game has been ordered by a judge to pay $5 million in damages to five Greensboro, NC police officers. The damages stem from an incident in October of 2005 when Game was arrested at the Four Seasons Town Centre mall in North Carolina.
.
The rapper was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct at the mall when he went in to sign autographs wearing a mask. Mall security said he was wearing a full-face Halloween mask and cursing loudly and when he was asked to leave Game refused. The twist is that the rapper’s crew filmed the arrest and included an edited portion of it on a documentary-style DVD called Stop Snitchin’, Stop Lyin’, which Game co-produced.
.
In 2006, five police officers filed a defamation suit against the rapper for that DVD. The suit accused Game and co-producer Bungalo Records Inc. of libel and slander, claiming their identities were wrongfully used. Now, each officer– Hien Nguyen, Matthew Brown, Ryan Childrey, Romaine Watkins and David Gregory– will receive one million dollars in compensatory damages. The officers are also seeking an additional $10 million in punitive damages, but a new trial will need to be set for that ruling. If that trial goes well for the officers, Game will be out even more money.
